Clipabay is a free audio, video and music editor made by Black Ribbon Studios. It works inside your browser, and we built it so your files stay with you.

Your files stay on your device

Everything you open, record, edit and export is handled by your own browser. Your files are never uploaded to us, and we have no server that stores them. Projects you save are kept in your browser's own storage on your device, and you can delete them at any time.

No account, no cookies, no tracking

You don't need an account. We don't set cookies, we don't run ads and we don't sell or share any data about you.

Opening files from Google Drive or Dropbox

If you choose to open a file from Google Drive or Dropbox, you sign in with that service in its own window. Clipabay only gets access to the files you pick, and only to read them so they can open in the editor. With Google Drive we use the narrowest permission Google offers (it covers only the files you select). The file goes straight from Google or Dropbox to your browser; it does not pass through us, and we never see your password.

Clipabay's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Links you paste

When you open a file from a link, your browser downloads it directly from that website.

Downloads the editor needs

Some features download a tool the first time you use them, for example the speech model for captions, the translation models and the background removal model. These come from Hugging Face, jsDelivr and Google, and are then stored in your browser. Fonts come from Google Fonts. Like any website, these services see your IP address when your browser requests the files. Your media is not sent to them.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
