What is Clipabay?
A free audio, video and music editor that runs in your browser. There is nothing to install, no account and no watermark, and your files stay on your own device.
Where are my projects saved?
In this browser on this device. Clearing your browsing data deletes them, so export finished work or save the project as a file (Projects → Save as file).
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. On a phone the video editor shows a tool bar at the bottom; tap a clip to edit it. You can also install Clipabay as an app from your browser menu.
Which browser works best?
Chrome or Edge on a computer gives the fastest exports and AI tools. Safari and Firefox work too, with a few export formats missing.
Video editor
Add clips, photos and music
Press Add or drop files on the page. Library has free stock videos and photos, and My library keeps your own logos, intros and music for every project.
Trim, split and move
Drag the edges of a clip to trim it, press Split (S) to cut at the playhead, and drag clips to move them. Hold Shift or Ctrl to select several.
Edit a whole video in one go
Auto edit cuts pauses, adds captions, reframes to 9:16, adds B-roll and music that gets quieter while people talk. Everything stays editable afterwards.
Captions
Captions → Auto captions listens to the speech and writes them for you. Click a caption to fix a word or change the style. Translate captions adds a second language.
Templates
Templates turns your clips into a ready-made style, like a travel montage cut on the beat. Save your own edit as a template and share it as a link.
Record your screen
Record lets you record the screen, the camera, or both. The camera becomes a round bubble you can move and resize afterwards.
Dub into another language
Dub translates what is said, makes a new voice in that language and adds captions. The original voice is turned off or kept quietly in the background.
Before you post
Export → Check before posting scores your video for TikTok, Reels, Shorts or YouTube and fixes common problems in one click. The phone icon under the preview shows where each app covers your video.
Brand kit
Library → Brand kit stores your logo, intro, outro, font and colours. Clipabay can add them to every new video automatically.
Audio editor and music
Clean up a recording
Open the file and use AI noise removal for speech, Noise reduction for anything else, plus De-esser, Click removal and Hum removal. Preview before you apply.
Remove one sound
Turn on the spectrogram, drag a box around the sound (a cough, a phone) and choose Remove.
Split a song into stems
Music → Split into stems separates vocals, drums, bass and other instruments with AI and puts them in the multitrack mixer.
Record over other tracks
In Multitrack, press Record (R) to record a new track while the others play. Wear headphones.
Many files at once
Batch applies the same clean-up and loudness to many files and saves them in one go.
Privacy and files
Is anything uploaded?
No. Editing, AI and exporting all run on your device. Only searches in the stock library and sound search go to the internet, and only the search words are sent.
Why does a tool download something the first time?
The AI tools need a model file (from about 30 MB to 600 MB). It downloads once and is then kept by your browser.
Can I use the stock clips and sounds commercially?
Yes. Pixabay clips, public-domain Freesound sounds and sounds made by Clipabay can be used in anything you make, including monetised videos.
